Hello PCCI Friends,
This past month we have collected and diverted 1,809 lbs of food scraps. In March of 2021, we collected 827.7lbs of food scraps. Totaling to a 46% increase in food scrap diversion from March 2021 to March 2022.
We have only been growing in this new year, and this could only be made possible with the help of each one of you, and we can't show enough appreciation.

This week we are glad to announce a date for Park City's first annual Composting Get Together with Earth Matter NYC. Come join us on Sunday, April 24th from 11 AM to 2 PM. This is the day you as our participants get to come and take back some compost for your gardens for free!
We will also be hearing about Earth Matter NYC and learning about what they are doing in NYC. This will be a fun day to get first-hand experience on how to sift compost, best practices for making your own compost, and how to help community compost programs like Park City Compost, and Earth Matter to have the best quality compost.
Earth Matter is an NYC-based non-profit based that seeks to reduce the organic waste misdirected into the garbage stream by encouraging neighbor participation and leadership in composting. Similar to Park City Compost Initiative, Earth Matter aims to help the community because they are leaders in environmentally friendly waste management services, and as Earth Matter NYC says "[with] the aim to advance the art, science, and application of compost..." which is something we couldn't agree with more here at Park City Compost Initiative.

Volunteering is open every Saturday at Green Village Initiative (GVI) every Saturday until the summer ends.
